The Bacuri Tree is native to the state of Pará; the highest concentrations are found in the Salgado, Bragantina ,and Marajó island regions. This tree can reach 25m in height and 1.5m in diameter. It grows on solid ground, and the timber is yellow, compact, resistant to rotting, and is, not suprisingly, used in the construction of boats. The fruit of this species, which weighs 250g on average, is oval and covered by a shell, which is 0.7 to 1.6cm thick and 75% of the weight of the fruit.

One of the best natural remedies for eczema, blemishes, and cuts, this organic, raw, rich, aromatic butter is packed with Phytonutrients which, for centuries, have been known used for their analgesic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and emollient properties.

Unrefined Bacuri Butter is almost black in color and is stupendously rich in protein and phenols. It has a high absorption rate due its high level of tripalmitin, which penetrates the skin quickly, bringing relief to common symptoms of eczema such as dry, itchy, and inflamed skin.

It is also helpful in diminishing redness, swelling, and cracking of the skin. Unrefined Bacuri Butter is excellent for addressing weeping wounds, blemishes, crusting, and scaling.

Unrefined Bacuri Butter contains also a high percentage of palmitic, oleic, and palmitoleic fatty acids, which provide its rich emollient and moisturizing properties. It is also rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, and vitamins A and B, and contains one of the highest contents of the amino acid Lysine. Lysine has been proven to be beneficial in treating irritated skin conditions and is also essential in the crosslink formation that stabilizes collagen and elastin production, aiding in retention of skin elasticity and promoting skin healing.

Bacuri Butter also contains methionine, an essential source of sulphur, which helps strengthen the hair and skin and encourages nail growth. It also helps relieve pain and inflammation.

Bacuri Butter also contains threonine, which is needed to create glycine and serine, two amino acids that are necessary for the production of collagen, elastin, and muscle tissue.

Very thrown off by the scent but after a test run it sinks in great. I can't wait to put it in my soaps.
